I'll start with the bad. The way H&S explains to route this thing is just stupid. It can easily be routed in the same location as the factory cable, the only issue is you'll have to beed the line after you take it out of the caliber end (not a big deal). That hydraulic line is like, half an inch too short to route it that way. It does work, but its a little tighter than I would like. Would be doing us all a solid if you just made it a half in longer OR sold two seperate kits, one that's already bled and routed outside the frame and another one that's half inch longer and not filled with oil when you ship it.
Now the good. My son has had this Elektrode bike for two years. I've probably spent 10 hours over the last two years messing around with that cable brake. No matter what I did he wasn't strong enough to pull it in and always had to supplement the braking with his feet. The minute he pulled this hydraulic lever he literally put the bike down and gave me a hug. He can lock the rear wheel completely effortlessly now. Only regret is not doing it sooner. This should be standard equipment on this bike.
Great customer service! I ordered the battery adapter and the shipping was very fast. Unfortunately, when I installed it, it didn't work. I contacted H & S the next morning and they had a replacement sent out that very same day. Sometimes things don't work. It's just a fact of life. Great customer service after the sale is worth more than price and H & S has that figured out!
What a nice little upgrade. Relatively quick and painless to swap out. And it will be even quicker in the future should the throttle assembly fail.
Made everything so mush easier and best way to learn how to really diy.
