H&S Super Lite Front Sprocket

The H&S Super Lite Front Sprocket lets you adjust the gearing and top-speed potential of compatible STACYC 12eDRIVE and 16eDRIVE models.

Choose from 11T, 12T, 13T, 14T, and 17T options to match the rider, terrain, and intended use. Larger front sprockets increase top-speed potential while reducing some low-speed torque and increasing drivetrain load.

SPROCKET SIZE AND SPEED GUIDE

STACYC 12eDRIVE:

• Stock 9T: approximately 9 mph
• 11T: approximately 11–12 mph
• 12T: approximately 12–13 mph
• 13T: approximately 13–14 mph
• 14T: approximately 15–16 mph
• 17T: approximately 18–19 mph—race or flat-track use only, rider under approximately 40 pounds, and frequent cooling required

STACYC 16eDRIVE:

• Stock 10T: approximately 13 mph
• 11T: approximately 14-15 mph
  
• 12T: approximately 16 mph
• 13T: approximately 17–18 mph
• 14T: approximately 19–20 mph—race use
• Do not use the 17T sprocket on a STACYC 16eDRIVE

Speeds are approximate. Rider weight, terrain, battery condition, tire pressure, motor condition, and overall setup all affect real-world results.

IMPORTANT 17T WARNING

The 17T sprocket is intended only for modified or race-use STACYC 12eDRIVE bikes with riders under approximately 40 pounds.

This sprocket significantly increases drivetrain load and the possibility of overheating. Allow the bike to cool regularly and monitor motor and controller temperature during use.

The 17T sprocket is not compatible with the STACYC 16eDRIVE.

IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INFORMATION

The output shaft of the STACYC 90-degree gearbox has a rounded shoulder, also called a shaft fillet, where the shaft transitions into the gearbox.

The H&S sprocket is designed to maintain a small clearance gap between the back of the sprocket and the base of the 90-degree gearbox. This small gap is normal and intentional.

Do not attempt to eliminate the gap by overtightening the sprocket-retaining screw.

Overtightening the screw can pull one side of the sprocket against the curved output-shaft shoulder. This can cause the sprocket to sit unevenly on the shaft and create the appearance of a bent or wobbling sprocket even when the sprocket itself is straight.

If the sprocket appears to wobble after installation:

• Loosen the retaining screw.
• Make sure the sprocket is sitting squarely on the output shaft.
• Confirm that it is not being forced against the curved shoulder or gearbox housing.
• Reinstall the retaining screw without using it to pull the sprocket inward against the shoulder.
• Rotate the rear wheel and confirm that the sprocket runs straight before riding.

CHAIN LENGTH AND ADJUSTMENT

Changing the front-sprocket diameter changes the required chain length and adjustment.

Depending on the selected sprocket and the bike’s current chain length, you may need to:

• Adjust the rear-wheel position
• Add or remove chain links
• Install a different-length chain

Do not operate the bike with the chain excessively tight. An overly tight chain increases load on the motor, gearbox, output shaft, and bearings.

• STACYC 16eDRIVE with brushless motor

The 17T sprocket fits the STACYC 12eDRIVE only.

Not designed for:

• STACYC 16eDRIVE Elite
• STACYC 18eDRIVE
• STACYC 20eDRIVE
