H&S Stock-Axle Sealed Bearing Upgrade

Upgrade the wheel bearings on your STACYC 12eDRIVE or 16eDRIVE while retaining the original front and rear axles.

The stock open-cage wheel bearings require regular cleaning and greasing. This H&S upgrade replaces them with sealed bearings and matching bearing cups to help keep out dirt, water, and debris while reducing routine maintenance.

Choose blue or black bearing cups with either standard steel bearings or upgraded ceramic bearings.

FITMENT

Designed for:

  • STACYC 12eDRIVE
  • STACYC 16eDRIVE

This is the H&S stock-axle sealed-bearing upgrade. It is different from the H&S complete sealed-bearing and axle upgrade kit.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

  • Two front sealed-bearing cups
  • Two rear sealed-bearing cups
  • Four sealed bearings in your selected steel or ceramic configuration
  • Four jam nuts for the stock-axle installation

IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTES

The jam nuts control bearing adjustment. Tighten them only enough to eliminate side-to-side wheel movement.

After adjustment, hold the axle and spin the wheel. The wheel should rotate freely without resistance or side-to-side movement. Overtightening the jam nuts can place excessive pressure on the bearings and cause premature bearing failure.

The rear axle has a positioning notch that must sit inside the wheel. Insert the rear axle from the freewheel side so the notch is correctly positioned inside the wheel. Installing the axle in the opposite direction can leave the rear wheel and axle off-center.

After reinstalling the rear wheel, reset the chain tension and confirm that the chain has the proper amount of slack.
